Did Ally really forget her first date with Tyler?

I can't figure it out. She agreed, yet had put him off and he'd had to 'pass a test' when they first met. Where were they planning on meeting? Now he's calling her from his place, not from the restaurant. Either she's already late in getting to his place or he's nervous that she'll bail. He says something like: 'You're going to stand me up. I can feel it.' Now in general I would say Tyler wouldn't be nervous about whether a girl stands him up or not. Yes, Ally is different but still, if they'd already agreed, why would she stand him up? Unlike Tyler, who, as we know, is so preoccupied with Michael that HE might forget, why would Ally? Is she making him work for it even more? When we see her on her bed, she's obviously not thinking of a date at all, as if she's forgotten. Now why can't I believe that she has forgotten? It's an odd thing I don't have an answer for. Anybody got any ideas?

Oh, we are so close to the 9/11 anniversary. All I see on TV about it is conspiracy theories. We don't need that.

hi @jessegirl! Well Im' kind of relieved that you don't seem to have a clear answer either. I honestly believe taht she had forgotten the date or maybe mixed up the time or day. Yes, I know,it seems hard to believe you could stand up Tyler but apparently that's what she was gong to do... an dthen I'm not so sure. She's relaxed and reading and clearly not planning to go out or do anything, so she's clearly not expecting his phone call. But then if she was going to stand him up why does she accept to go out when he reminds her of their date and why does she gets all in a hurry and a panic so as to get there on time ?? If she really did not want to see him, I think she's the kind of girl who would tell him "listen, I'm not going to go, i've changed my mind". So I don't know! please someone help !! Maybe he had asked her for the date and chosen the place and time and she had not committed, maybe she had told him listen call me the day we're suposed to go out and I will tell you if I can go or not?

When we first see Ally she is in school giving her thought provoking answer to the professor. Because of Aiden’s insistence Tyler agrees to meet her where she is studying and after Tyler tries to make small talk with her she tells him he is interrupting her- she is very serious about her education and so in that frame of context I will say when Tyler called her at home, I think she forgot the date at the moment because she was busy studying. When he told her he was going to be devastated if she stood him up she instantly said she would be ready and then asked him what time would they meet and he said 8:00 and she said 8:15. I think Ally definitely wanted to date Tyler and if she didn’t want to she could of easily said I’m sorry I’m busy when he asked her if she was going to stand him up.

Probably yes. She found Tyler attractive, but there is a possibility that she have not took his invitation seriously, for me that is the reason that she may have forgotten it, but when Tyler telephoned to her, she perceived he was really interested on her, then she decided dating him.

I believe Ally didnt forget about the date. I think that she just didnt believe Tyler was being serious. Tyler's character at the beginning is not one that can be reliable. I mean he gets in fights at the sound of his brother's name or ends up in jail...laughing. Maybe Ally sensed that Tyler isnt one to committ and she just thought he was joking. But when she receives his call she jumps up the bed taken by surprise to acknowledge that Tyler was, indeed, serious, and I think that at this moment is when Tyler starts becoming a different person, more responsible about his life. Also, this is the moment he decides to take the necessary steps towards starting to live again. To start letting his deceased brother rest in peace and try to collect his life slowly yet entirely where he left off.

Yes, Anonymous, I too believe you have the answer, and LTavares. She 'just didnt' believe Tyler was being serious'. And Ally is the one who 'wakes him up'. She's so important to the whole story. Yes, he's the hub of the wheel, but she makes it turn. -?-

I think she kinda knew about that date but she might have forgotten or decided to study/read instead. Then Tyler calls her and she knows what´s going on...she hadn´t taken it seriously,I guess.
