Remember Me Trailer Dubbed in French for Quebec

Article Translation to English:

See Robert Pattinson in the trailer for Remember Me in French
Isabelle Hontebeyrie

In Quebec, Remember Me, the upcoming movie starring Robert Pattinson, will be in theaters as The Rage to Live. We introduced the trailer in the original version a month ago, here now in French.

Whenever I see trailers for films in a dubbed version, I remember the reasons why I never see films other than in the original version. This trailer, just out of Summit studios, is unfortunately a French version. Therefore, Robert Pattinson, Emilie de Ravin, Pierce Brosnan, and Chris Cooper are speaking the language of Molière. And if you want my opinion, it is a very nice massacre (I am thinking we insert sarcasm here!) Therefore we will have fun comparing the two!

The trailer is in VF (French Version) below, while for the record, we have included the original version from last month in the right column, in order to cleanse your ears after hearing Robert Pattinson dubbed! (Thanks, Calendos.)

Recall that this trailer was shown during screenings of Twilight: New Moon, a Chris Weitz film with Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, and Taylor Lautner. Another thing to which I take exception too often, the translation of film titles in Québec. While in France--at least according Allo Ciné--the title of Remember Me will be "Souviens-toi de moi", a literal translation, we have the right to anything in our Beautfiul Province.

Because "Souviens-toi de moi" does not have enough bite. As a result, I do not know who decided that for Québec, Remember Me would be entitled, "Le Rage de Vivre" (The Rage to Live). Ye! (Yuck!) You have to admit, that is as bad a translation as it gets. Especially since, according to the latest information provided by Summit, the film's official synopsis is as follows.

Tyler (Robert Pattinson) is the son of a wealthy New York family. One day he is attacked by a police officer (Chris Cooper) in a fight. To avenge the latter, he decides to seduce his daughter (Emilie de Ravin). But contrary to what was expected, Tyler and Ally go on to live a story of passion, the kind of story that marks a life forever. A story of love upset by tragic family histories. So what has this to do with the rage to live?

HDNet's Utlimate Trailer Show

HDNet's The Ultimate Trailer Show with film critic Richard Wilonski took a look at the Remember Me trailer.

"So let's bring things back to a more comtempory period with with someone I'm sure you are anxiously awaiting to see in a film that is not named Twilight. This would be Robert Pattinson in Remember Me. It looks to be a Romeo and Juliet tale starring the likes of Chris Cooper and Pierce Brosnan as the fathers respectively of the young man and young woman who fall in love even though they are both terribly lost and alone and afraid of life in the big city or something like that. Will you remember it when it opens in theaters? Probably. It is called Remember Me."

You can catch it on HDNet again on Monday December 21 at 5:30 EST.

Thanks to Indians42 on IMDb for bringing it to our attention and enabling me to watch the trailer in glorious HD!

Remember Me - One of the Movies to See in 2010

Starpulse.com rates Remember Me as one of the movies to see in early 2010.

"Remember Me is being released March 12th and stars Robert Pattinson, Emilie De Ravin, Chris Cooper, and Pierce Brosnan. Everyone will be eagerly watching to see if Pattinson is capable of playing anything other than a sparkling teen heartthrob."

Remember Me Roundup for December 16

Normally I wouldn't post a news round-up for a certain day, but quite a few little bits and pieces came out today. So rather than do a couple of little posts, I've combined them all together here.

First up, SND-Films, the French distributor of the film tweeted today:

C'est donc officiel, SOUVIENS-TOI DE MOI, le prochain film avec Robert Pattinson, sortira le 07 avril ! ! !

Roughly translated it reads, It's official, Remember Me, with Robert Pattinson opens April 7th.
SND-Films.com

Aurum Films updated their site with a Spanish poster and header.

Aurum Films.com

In an editorial in Forbes.com, writer Lexi Feinberg puts Rob Pattinson and Remember Me on her Watch List for 2010.
Robert Pattinson. The handsome young star of the Twilight films can brood with the best of them, but can he act? The March 2010 release of Remember Me, which he executive produced, will determine if he's another flash in the pan or a junior Johnny Depp.
Forbes.com

And finally, the trailer for Remember Me has shown up on a couple of entertainment sites in the UK! Great news that the trailer is getting out there and giving people who have not heard of the film a taste of what it is about.

From heyuguys.co.uk: Heyuguys.co.uk
E1 Entertainment have just given us the new International trailer for Robert Pattinson’s new movie. It’s not Twilight Eclipse I’m afraid RPatz fans but a movie called ‘Remember Me’ which also stars Pierce Brosnan, Chris Cooper, Lena Olin and Emilie de Ravin. It’s directed by Allen Coulter and we think it’s going to be released some time in May 2010. Check out the synopsis below and then the trailer beneath that and tell us what you think in the comments below.

From Digital Spy.com: Digital Spy.com

Opening in UK cinemas on April 2, Remember Me stars Robert Pattinson as a rebellious young man who experiences a turbulent relationship with his father (Pierce Brosnan). Click 'play' below to watch the trailer for the New Moon star's latest film, which also features Oscar-winner Chris Cooper and Lost actress Emilie de Ravin.

Pierce Brosnan talks Remember Me and Robert Pattinson

Pierce Brosnan was interviewed by Rick Fulton from the Daily Record.co.uk and this is what he had to say about Remember Me and Rob.

Of course, to younger film fans, the most important thing is that he's worked with Robert Pattinson, the heartthrob star who plays Edward in Twilight.

"I think when you see Remember Me, you'll see Robert giving a fantastic performance. He's really working hard to work on his performance and acting and who he is."

More On-Line Articles Featuring Remember Me

Remember Me, Robert Pattinson, overshadows New Moon

by Sean Callahan - Post Production Examiner for Philadelphia Examiner.com
November 24, 2009

As the New Moon breaks records, attention should be brought to a trailer with a release date in March of 2010. No, not Eclipse, but rather Remember Me, a film which could legitimize Robert Pattinson as an actor and not just a Teen Beat cover boy.

Remember me is filled with an amazing cast: the impeccable, Academy Award winner Chris Cooper, Pierce Brosnan and Lena Olin. Robert is enlisted to play Tyler, a poetic misfit, who wants to be his own man but does not know how to find the path to becoming one. His father, portrayed by Brosnan, does not know what to do with him, which only leads to Tyler’s greater alienation.

On- Line Articles Featuring Remember Me

With the release of the trailer, Remember Me is beginning to be noticed and written about in various on-line articles. Here are some of those articles.

tMF Featured Trailer: REMEMBER ME- Robert Pattinson plays rebel, romances Emilie de Ravin!

Written by Jed Medina
Friday, 20 November 2009 03:58

While doing some finishing touches to my Twilight: New Moon review, I got the chance to watch the trailer for Robert Pattinson's upcoming modern drama entitled Remember Me. The first thing I noticed - not the acting - but the music. I love it!

Director Allen Coulter appears to be trying to create a refreshing new take of the tired and old formula of 'bad boy loves good girl' theme, throwing in, what appears to be, a difficult relationship between father and son. I'm pretty sure Rob Pattinson can match Brosnan, who plays his Dad, in the acting department. They even look 'related', so it's good casting on the part of Coulter.

Robert Pattinson's 'Remember Me' Trailer Is Released
By: David Ciminelli for MoviefoneUK.com
November 19, 2009

Robert Pattinson's next non-vampire movie doesn't open for another four months but that didn't stop Summit Entertainment from riding on 'The Twilight Saga: New Moon' buzz and releasing the trailer for his romantic drama 'Remember Me' a few days before the Nov. 20 release of the latest big screen offering from Stephenie Meyer's best-selling series.

The British heartthrob puts his charisma and good looks to use as a brooding, misunderstood rebel without much of a cause except to reconnect with his distant father (Pierce Brosnan) following a family tragedy, and, of course, to get the girl.

Remember Me Trailer to Show with New Moon

Wonderful Remember Me news coming in!!

There seem to be multiple confirmations that a Remember Me trailer will be shown in front of New Moon in US theaters.

Can not confirm that it will be shown in every theater that screens New Moon, but hoping that it is.

via Batman
I just had the privilege of watching new moon (i work at the local theatre, movie was AWESOME!) and there is indeed a trailer for this movie in front of new moon. i hadn't heard anything about the movie, so the trailer was a surprise, but a very very pleasant one. this film looks absolutely terrific, not only does rob look wonderful, but chris cooper and pierce brosnan also look awesome. definitely a movie i'll keep my eye on!

Just saw New Moon tonight, and it was awesome. I thought it was better then book and even better then the first one. Fans will not be disappointed, even though how they did the proposal was mean. But overall I like it and will be there to see the Midnight.
They also show Robert Pattinson movie Remember Me in one of the trailers and it looks good.

Hey!! I work at a movie theater in upstate NY and the projectionist's trailer list has "Remember Me" scheduled for all 4 prints we're getting on Friday!!
When "Sorority Row" was released a couple of months ago, it had the final "New Moon" trailer attached to it b/c they're both Summit Ent. movies.
Sooo, most movie U.S. theaters SHOULD be getting that trailer...unless they're just Rob haters...lol

Remember Me Test Screening ***No Spoilers***

This post will only discuss things that were said about the film in general terms. No worries about spoilers.

Last Thursday Remember Me was test screened. Here is some feedback that was posted on various forums across the Internet including blogs, Twitter, Live Journal and IMDb. Another piece of great news that came out of the screening on Thursday night. Letters to Rob blog first reported that Robert Pattinson is listed as an executive producer!

Here is some of what the viewers had to say:

I had really low expectations for it, but it was incredible. i thought it was just going to be a rob showcase but it was definitely not. i loved, loved, loved it and really hope it doesn't get written off as just a twilight fan girl movie. i can't express how amazing it was - from IMDb

loved remember me. i teared up. you peeps should watch it. - from Twitter

500 Days of Summer was my favorite movie this year, but Remember Me is right up there next to it, can't wait to see finished movie in 2010. - from Twitter

"to be really freaking honest, i thought it was going to be unintentionally lolzy, but it was REALLY good. i don't think anyone would be disappointed." - from Twitter

I went to a screening of Remember Me. Actually made me cry, I will recommend it. - from Twitter

Rob showcases his ability to be thoroughly methodical and cover the entire gamut of human emotions and condition in “Remember Me.” To see Rob be sweet, funny, pained, maligned, and protective to the point of being paternal, are just some of the treasures of this film. - from Robsessed Blog

Big Brother Rob is pretty much to die for. The girl who plays his sister Caroline is a star waiting to happen - from Letters to Rob Blog

i felt it was well shot, the acting was superb, the relationships/chemistry/dynamics were all amazing. – from IMDb
