TimeOut.com London Talks with Robert Pattinson

Timeout.com London chatted with Rob about Remember Me.

Robert Pattinson talks 'Remember Me'

The teen heartthrob proves there’s more to life than ‘Twilight’ as he talks to Time Out about his ‘serious’ indie romance, ‘Remember Me’

The hum of nervous excitement buzzing around Robert Pattinson’s hotel suite this morning is such that you half expect him to walk out with golden skin and alarmingly sharp teeth. But in the flesh, the ‘Twilight’ star is warm, earnest and posher than you might imagine, with something of the teenage schoolboy to him, even down to the frayed cuffs on his jacket. In our closely monitored chat (20 minutes! No questions about Kristin!) Pattinson talks about his role as chain-smoking student loser Tyler Hawkins in the US indie movie ‘Remember Me’, about creating ‘mystique’ as an actor and about sucking blood off his co-star’s lip.

You looked scared stiff when you were handing out a Bafta award last month. Are you getting shyer?
‘I think I am, yeah! The more interviews you do, the more stuff you say to people. You suddenly get worried that people are more likely to judge you. If no one knows anything about you, then you can say whatever you want - and just contradict yourself later. But the more contradictions you make, the scope gets narrower as to what you can say before people get pissed off.’

20 Minuten On-Line Talks with Robert Pattinson

Rob sat with Switzerland's 20 Minuten Online and answered some really good questions about Remember Me.

Robert Pattinson, in your new film you play alongside Pierce Brosnan, how was the cooperation between you and the ex-Bond.

Your film character Tyler is like a chocolate dessert: What is expected of him is just so much different than what you actually get it ...

How did you come from the vampire Edward in "Twilight" the rebel Tyler in "Remember Me"?

You started your career very young as Cedric in "Harry Potter". Was that a good school for a Hollywood release?

Where does the fascination with movies like "Twilight"?

At the BAFTA Awards, I noticed that the fans were screaming for you much more than for Prince William ...

Tu' Interview with Robert Pattinson

Robert Pattinson was interviewsd by the Mexican Tu' Magazine while doing press for Remember Me in New York City.

Twilight Poison has translated and posted the article on-line.

We were the only ones to talk to Rob alone inside his elegant suite at the Loews Hotel-Regency, in Park Avenue, New York City. He was nice, humble and he talked about everything about his new movie Remember Me.

As he’s describing his adventures on the set of the movie, which was total chaos, we found it interesting that the super star talks in such a low register that we were actually afraid our recorder wouldn’t pick up his voice during the interview. On one side, director Allen Culter assured us that he wasn’t exagerating when he told us about the crowds of fans on the set of the movie: “There were girls that actually flew from Japan to see Rob making this movie. It was terrible. It really made the shooting a nightmare”.
In Remember Me, Rob has the company of Emilie de Ravin, Chris Copper,Lena Olin, and Pierce Brosnan, who describes Pattinson as: “a young man who has been catapulted into the stratusphere of fame. As far as I can tell, he has a good heart, he’s humble, and he was very brave when he chose de role of Tyler, because he’s carrying the weight from Twilight, literally breathing on his neck. It’s up to him to choose interesting roles to film in between filming blockbuster movies”.

After waiting for him for over 30 minutes on his suite, he finally appears, smiley as ever and very shy, sporting black jeans, grey t-shirt with a black t-shirt underneath, green jacket and a bottle of water in hand. We are meeting him to talk about his movie Remember Me, a movie in which he plays a very different guy from his character in Twilight: “he’s someone who, after the loss of his brother, he feels lost. He has wealthy parents but he’s very proud and he’s not good at anything. He has attitude problems, which is not unusual for someone his age, when you think you know more than everybody else”.

Hangbag.com Interviews Robert Pattinson, Emilie de Ravin and Nick Osborne

Handbag.com caught up with Robert Pattinson, Emilie de Ravin and Nick Osborne on the Red Carpet at the UK premiere to talk about Remember Me.

“There’s so much more to it than just a love story,” says Robert’s co-star Emilie de Ravin. “It’s about how families and individuals are affected by and react to love and loss and fear and grief, and all of these things.”

After Twilight’s sucess, Robert has his pick of Hollywood’s top roles, so what made him decide to take Remember Me? “It felt very different to anything else was out there, and it felt very real. And I don’t think most films do feel very real in the way that they’re written. So hopefully that comes across,” Robert explained, before adding. “I just really liked the character, I really related to him.”

But what did Robert and Emilie think about working together? “I can’t think of anyone more perfect for the role,” gushed Emilie. “He really was as equally passionate about it as I was and we really did everything we could to develop our roles, and make everything as natural and real as possible.” And Robert was equally as complimentary. “It was really good, she’s really great,” he said, before adding, “Very feisty.”

Will Fetters Talks About his Script

Will Fetters talks about his journey and what it took for his script to be made into a film.

NEW YORK — Will Fetters is living an aspiring young screenwriter’s dream.

by Dennis King

His first script, completed while he was studying political science and prepping for law school at the University of Delaware, just finished a Cinderella journey to production and opened in theaters nationwide this month.

"Remember Me” is directed by Allen Coulter ("Hollywoodland”) and has a heavyweight cast that includes Pierce Brosnan, Lena Olin, Chris Cooper and Robert Pattinson of "Twilight” fame. It was Pattinson’s participation in the film as star and executive producer that secured financing and gave the movie an invaluable publicity boost, the screenwriter said.

Projections Talks Chris Cooper

In an interview from the press junket, Chris Cooper talks about young actors and Robert Pattinson.

Chris Cooper: An Actor’s Actor

by Dennis King

NEW YORK – Chris Cooper certainly didn’t build an impressive resume of 57 films and an Academy Award, plus television and Broadway work, by being a prima donna.

The hard-working, plain-spoken actor takes a down-to-earth approach to his craft, one that’s not surprising for a guy who studied both acting and agriculture at the University of Missouri and got his start in community theater pounding nails as a set builder. Stardom doesn’t interest him; acting does.

Through an amazing run of movies ranging from John Sayles’ gritty, low-budget “Matewan” to the inspirational “October Sky” to the controversial Oscar-winning “American Beauty” to the reality-bending “Adaptation” (for which he won an Academy Award as best supporting actor), Cooper has proven himself to be as durable as he is versatile.

His latest film is “Remember Me,” in which he plays a hard-nosed New York cop from Queens who clashes violently with his college-student daughter’s rebellious boyfriend (who happens to be played by that handsome young star of the moment, Robert Pattinson).

Chris Cooper talks with The Cinema Source.com

Rocco Passafuime at The Cinema Souce.com talked recently with Chris Cooper. In this interview, Chris touches on why he took the part, working with young actors, how he approaches a role and what the future holds for him.

Chris Cooper
"Impossible to Forget"

by Rocco Passafuime

When it comes to consistency, actor Chris Cooper has delivered for giving the most intense performances in the last 25 years of Hollywood film. This runs the gamut from his film debut in Matewan to Lone Star to A Time To Kill to American Beauty to The Bourne Identity to Adaptation (which garnered him a Best Supporting Actor Oscar) to Seabiscuit to Jarhead to Syriana to Breach.

Now Chris Cooper brings his trademark intensity to his latest role as troubled father Neil Craig in the romantic drama Remember Me. The 58 year-old first discussed what motivated him to the film.

Robert Pattinson Talks with MTV

The Clarion Ledger.com Article on Tate Ellington

Billy Watkins gives us our first article about Tate Ellington, who played Tyler's roommate, Aidan Hall in Remember Me. He touches on Tate's casting and gives us some great biographical information on Tate.

Madison native co-starring in movie 'Remember Me'
by Billy Watkins

The studio wanted a household name.

Allen Coulter, director of the new movie Remember Me, preferred the not-yet-famous actor from Madison, 30-year-old Tate Ellington.
"They were going to start filming in just a few days," recalls Ellington, a 2001 Ole Miss graduate. "So Allen called me in for a sit-down. He wanted me to give him my take on the character I would be playing, to tell him what this person was like, inside and out."

Forty-five minutes later, Coulter - best known for directing and producing 21 episodes of the HBO series The Sopranos - told Ellington: "I'm sold. And I'll make sure Summit (Entertainment) goes along with it."
