Wow great! Kat, do you know what its rating was before? Has it increased a lot? And do you think it's because people who did not see RM in theaters and have now seen on DVD or have rented it are commenting favorably on it? Sorry for all the questions... :))
I don't remember the very early days, but it got to around a 6.4 to a 6.6 right after the film released. Since then it has been rising a point at a time, slowly till it hit the 7 last night. I would give the last two points to DVD viewers - and keep in mind that there are probably a number of low ratings going into that too. Thank goodness the number of good votes is really outweighting the bad votes.
Thanks Kat! I guess a rating of 7 is really good. I wonder if it could even increase a little more... :)) And, yes, the good votes and positive comments always outweigh the bad ones everywhere, although the negative opinions are often very hateful - nauseating ,as jessegirl would say.
I really wish they could get the worldwide total right. I know it's made more than 46 mil. It's nice to see that the majority likes RM. Gives me a little faith in people again. Still no faith in critics though...
I just heard from one of our readers that RM began its run with a 5.4/10 rating on midnight Thursday March 11, 2010.
I think the problem with the IMDb number is that it isn't a true worldwide total. They don't include every country in their count like Box Office Mojo does. (which is weird because they are both owned by the same company). Box Office Mojo has it at $55.7 million. And they are a bit light too.
I'm glad that you check into all this stuff, Kat. It sounds like good news. This and the UK #1 spot in DVD sales, is so heartening. Perhaps the DVD and the IMDB rating have something to do with one another.
Did Box Offic Mojo cover the last countries in which it was released I wonder. Could it be closer to $60M?

I know they are missing India and Switzerland and don't count every $ from each country, but I think that total ahould add a million at the most.
