I love this quote. Before it was Tyler's I've loved this quote.
We are all on a path.
Each one of us has something to do that adds into the collective.
Whenever I feel small, I try to remember that it is the small things I do and the small things of others that add into the thing that will change the world.
I've only seen the movie twice, so I'm looking forward to watching it again and I again. I need to sit and watch it with only this in mind to have more concrete thoughts of the impact this quote has on the movie.
"Gandhi said that whatever you do in life will be insignificant, but it's important that you do it. I tend to agree with the 1st part." ~Tyler
That`s what I love most in this film: the characters, act like ordinary people, they don`t have any glamour. Poor Tyler, he is insecure about his own life, truly he doesn`t think too much about what to do with his life, he has no plans, he only lives. That is what he does, he lives. He loves Michael, Caroline and now Ally, he has a good friend, a mother, a stepfather and a father. Maybe for having a common life, he thinks his life isn`t important, but for someone or something, anything that we feel or we do reflects in people`s lives and in everything. That`s why we are here and that`s why we can`t forget Tyler too. Need I say how much more significant Robert Pattinson became to me after he did this film? I don`t think so.
I’m whacked out after putting my mind to yet another article—what am I, crazy?—so I haven’t much brain power to apply to this quote, which, of course, is part of the philosophic theme of the film. What puzzles me is that Tyler agrees only with the first part. Perhaps it is because he feels so insignificant himself and, therefore, can’t see the importance of anything he would do. Where does he find this quote? In his general reading? Right now, I think it’s important that there are only 9 days until the DVD comes out. Hah.
